Regular Submission
Guidelines
What we're looking for:
Literary Chaos Magazine is looking for
courageous, experimental writers in the spirit of (but not imitating)
Julio Cortazar, Donald Barthelme, and Italo Calvino. We will publish
fiction, artwork, flash movies, rants, and poetry monthly.
Flash art, short movies, photography, and art are
also widely encouraged. Please do the necessary
research to know what an experimental writer/artist is. Play with
form, language, point-of-view, style, anything—and make it
brilliant. When submitting to Lit Chaos, do not send previously
published work. We should respond within a
month although anything is possible. This
means simultaneous submissions are not
allowed. We have recently been killed by numerous, and sudden
(one author waited about 8 hours) retractions and have therefore
had to change our policy on this.
Please include this at the bottom of your email:
I hereby grant permission to publish and archive
my work and understand that after the issue in which my work is printed
all rights return to me, the artist.
Where to send submissions:
SUBMIT
to litk.os@gmail.com or submit.k.os@gmail.com
A note about what you need in a submission:
In the subject line of your email, please include: Submission —
category — title. For example, if you are submitting a poem
titled "The Pack of Peanuts", write: "Submission — Poetry
— The Pack of Peanuts" In the body of the email, paste your
story or poem(s) and attach it as a Word document with no smart
quotes, please. Also, a hello or
hi Ra! or hi MJ wouldn't hurt. Our names can be found at the Masthead.
Link on the left. Include a short
biography, and (if you think it's necessary) a one sentence summary
of the piece.
Art and Videos
If you're sending art, please make the titles web-friendly. If you
have a piece named "C4 the final frontier" we cannot upload
a file with a name with spaces and weird characters. Instead, call
the file "frontier" or "c4_frontier". There should
be no spaces and no special characters for file names. Thanks.
For video, we ask that you use yousendit.com or upload it with a
"litchaos.com" watermark thoughout the entirety to revver.com.
If you have any questions, please ask before sending.
Audio Issue Submission Guidelines:
We are beginning to collect work for the litchaos.com (downloadable)
audio issue.
to submit.k.os@gmail.com
We're not yet sure when this issue will be ready but it should be
one of its kind.
Print Issue #2 Submission
Guidelines:
Closed. We will inform you when #3 is going to be
considered. Due to excessive backlogging no new submissions will
be read for print issues now.
