VOICES an online chapbook
by Lance and Dovale

Dovale is a graphic designer and writer. Author of “Era das Máquinas”, he has done many independent projects with Lance. Dovale has studied design at Escola de Design da Universidade do Estado de Minas Gerais, which is quiet well known in France, where he has participated of many competitions. Dovale latest work is Voices, again with Lance, where they propose a new way to relate image and text.

Dovale lives in Belo Horizonte, in the Brazilian State of Minas Gerais. Belo Horizonte is a city rich in culture, it hosts events like FIT – International Festival of Theatre and FID - International Festival of Dance. The city is a mix between Oscar Niemeyer’s modern buildings and colonial ones. Sadly, as in others cities in the world, many people live in misery there.

Lance lives in Recife, in the Brazilian State of Pernambuco. Recife is full of culture, music, beaches and, unfortunately, sharks, violence and misery.

Lance is a writer, has published 3 books, and have been working with independent publication for the past 5 years. He has lived in Sri Lanka, England and, mainly, in Brazil. He got a degree in Geography at Universidade de São Paulo, where he did some researches on Archaeology, and was a postgraduate researcher on Literature at Bristol University. Voices is his second e-book to be published. He started it in 2005 and Dovale joined him in the beginning of 2006, making all the visual content. Voices is made of 3 parts that can be read (and seen) independently.

Lance and Dovale hope that a publisher picks up Voices for a print run.
