Coming Straight Thru Franklin Avenue

From the back of the van
was the sound of Troilus
wheezing in his beard,
pretending he was in battle
again; coming closer
to Chaucer than
Shakespeare
in the momentary doubt
before death. He was still
rambling on thru
Franklin Avenue & then on
the freeway
scientifically discussing the
pimples &
warts
on the neck of his father,
King Priam,
on our way to Glendale
to score more
LSD.

That’s Why

The sun’s rays which
stream down to the
earth appear as white
light while and white light
is composed of light waves of all
the colors of the spectrum, each
color having a different wave length -
red, at one end of the
spectrum, has the longest;
blue, near the other end
has a shorter wave length.
As it passes through the atmosphere, sunlight
is reflected and refracted by air
molecules and dust particles
and molecules of water vapor.
This scattering process is called
diffusion : the short blue light waves
are more widely scattered and rescattered
than are the long red light waves, and because of
this, the sky appears blue and
the sky farthest from the sun
is the deepest.
Outer space is black because there is no atmosphere
to scatter the light waves - that’s why
when you see a blinking red polka dot cloud
at 3 a.m. all knowledge, such as this, is a pointless
crock of shit.

The Actress Who Got Me Too Drunk To Act
for Sunny

she had hands like...
she had these hands like...
she had these strange hands like...
she had these strange hands that...
she had these strange hands that looked...
she had these strange hands that looked like...
she had these strange hands that looked like
they came from a
gypsy tomb.
