Four Poems
by Doug Draime

Fucking At The Bottom Of The Caribbean

Fucking white-tip sharks

Fucking on the bottom

Fucking 500 frog fish getting fucking jumpy

Fucking weirder than a Dali nightmare

Fucking swimming around the sharks

Fucking who fuck in loud explosions

Fucking like wars in full fucking pitch

Fucking blood flying like sparks

Fucking like F Bombs up to the still turquoise surface

Filming Your Life

Every movement
must be seen,
from the prospective
of a hole
in the ground.
So, truly, from the bottom
up & panning around
with our movie
camera: fast
movement in slow
motion & slow
movement in pause
or stop frame
constantly,
as everything is always
changing & moving
ever so slightly.
& at intense
non recordable speeds.
except in rare cases
of absolute stillness,
from inside the hole
Itself
which cannot
be seen, but it sees
intimately the details of every breath
you will
ever take ..
but sorry,
your thought process
will be
censored.
Aiming for a
G
rating.

Spider Wisdom

I know the
spider walking
around on
my bare foot
right now
knows more
about
the universe
than I do.
I can sense
it has
more
knowledge
in its
tiny
pin-like
body
than in
my
190 pound
mass.
Here I am
with my huge old
melon head
and all these books
and the
internet
which can
access
all the
data accumulated
since the
ancestors of
this anglo blood

in my
veins
came storming
out
from the
caves and
jungles,
murdering

life.
While
the ancestors of
my other
blood
( what is called )
the American
Indian,
thousands of tribes
many
nations
living together
with relatively
few
conflicts
peacefully
for
centuries,
honoring
all of creation
by their
gentle
gleaning
of the
earth.
Yet at
this
moment
in my
body
inside
my head
it is
brutal
and full of fear
the white man’s
blood
his dilemma
overwhelms me once again.
But the spider is alert
being a wise and resourceful
old arachnid
radar on
swiftly jumps
off
my foot like a Swan Lake ballerina
and
disappears
under my
desk
before
I can
murder
it.

these words

(concepts): MILITARY INDUSTRIAL CORPORATE COMPLEX

and their implications

I’ve always had trouble with
in this life

in this illusion,

in all my lives, in all my illusions, and no amount of mayhem

and death and fear and ignorance and lies

is gonna keep my

mouth shut

about

the utter evil of these words

Doug Draime's most recent books are: Spiders And Madmen (Scintillating Publications, 2006), Spleen
(Poetic Inhalation, 2005), Unoccupied Zone (Pitchfork Press, 2004), and Slaves Of The Harvest (indian
Heritage Publishing, 2002). His diverse range of writing has been appearing in underground newspapers,
small press magazines, and online journals since the late 1960's.

Doug Says these poems for Lit K-os Magazine are experiments in breaking the mode and captivity of conventional, and certainly academic pointlessness. Meant for liberation and growth of perception and spirit.
