MORE GUIDELINES FOR
WEB SUBMISSIONS

DEAR WRITERS AND ARTISTS:

Due to excessive use of Allegra-D we are sometimes slow or remiss to
acknowledge receipt of your emails, however, we will eventually respond.
Please be patient with us. Our brains are small so please read below and take
these and any other common sense precautions to make this as easy as
possible for us. This will help make the response time far faster. Note that if
you do not have the presence of mind and time to read this page, it is
unlikely we will accept your work.

SUBMISSIONS
Must be sent to us via e-mail, according to the guidelines below. The
magazine is primarily a fiction and poetry journal, with some interviews. We
do occasionally accept music, artwork, and photography.

E-MAIL ADDRESSES
All submissions should be sent to editor@litchaos.com.

LENGTH
Submissions can technically be of any length, but consider how fast you’re
scrolling right now to gauge the attention span of the average reader. For
music and art see below.

COVER LETTERS
Are unnecessary, but not forbidden by any means.

STYLE
Should be experimental. Think Italo Calvino, Julio Cortazar, or Michael
Ondaatje for a loose guide. Don't think romance, horror, or sci-fi.

PLEASE PASTE
The entire document into the e-mail message and send us each piece as a
Word attachment exactly how you would like it to appear in print if
accepted. Don't use smart quotes or any other little tech things that are a
formatting nightmare when uploaded.

YOUR NAME
Should be on your submission. (Please inform us of pseudonyms)

YOUR SUBJECT LINE
Should say the category and the title of the piece with the word
"submission". So if you are sending a poem called "The Wickedest” it should
look like this:

Submission – Poem: “The Wickedest”

AUTHOR BIOS
Are welcomed as long as they are to the point.

SUMMARIES
Should be one sentence only.

PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED WORK
Cannot be considered.

PAYMENT
There will likely be none. If there is any, it will be in abstract quantities such
as self-fulfillment and pride.

RESPONSE TIME
Is somewhere between a quark and a light-year. Please be patient.

MUSIC OR ARTWORK
Should be sent the same as fiction or poetry. Include jpegs (2-3 files), mp3 (1
file), or photos (2-3 files) directly in the body of your email with the category
in the subject line. We accept comics, paintings, sketches, and more.
